 My favourite Lego activity was the cars because it was intense and it got me and my partner thinking about how we could make it better. 

My least favourite Lego activity was the mosaic because it was too hard for me.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was the mosaic because I did not give up even though it was way too hard for me.

The most challenging activity was passing the bricks because it was hard to see my dump truck to get changed to something out. 

I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because It was fun and we worked really well together. 

Town Trip Recount Mason

  

On Thursday  Tumu Hub went to Margaret Mahy Playground and we had 4 activities.  The 4 activities were a ride on the waka, Victoria Square, Margaret Mahy Playground, the Maori mats on the concrete and feeding the eels. 

The first one that I did in my team was the waka.The waka was fun. My friends and I made a song about the waka but sadly me and my team had to leave for the next rotation. Then we went to Victoria Square. We looked at all of the sculptures and some pou. Mrs Carney took the next activity. We had a scavenger hunt and we had to find some carved objects on the ground. At Mrs Bryceś activity we looked at the mats carved in the ground and we fed the eels. The eel took my spoon.

My favourite part of the trip was going on to the waka because me and my friends made a song about the waka.

Something I learnt at the Avon river is cold Ōtākaro in Maori.

 

The thing I found the most interesting was the mats because they have patterns with different colours and meanings.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because we saw some pou and we are going to design some for our school.

This week in the Tumu Hub I was learning how to round and compensate  and it was confusing at first but I still got the hang of it. 5 things i would take to the moon

1. I would take food to the moon because i would get hungry and it would have to be frozen food because normal food would go off.

2.I would take lots of clothes to keep me warm  because I don't want to get  cold on the moon and it is very cold up there, there is no sun like on Earth.

3.I will take a tent to sleep in and a sleeping bag, pillow and a blanket and the reason for that is so I can sleep and if I don't sleep I will be very tired in the morning

4. I would take some drinks so I don't get dehydrated and I don't get a headache. 

5. would take a basketball and basketball hoop because i  could  do big  slam dunks

One day there was  a man who opened an ice cream shop he had many new flavours  kids wanted to try . So come and try some  of the flavours but  they are all very good .The only problem is its in America and it is on  Catlin Street  so you will need to take a plane ride to sample the best ice cream shop in the world.

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with us having to form groups and collaboratively create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

I learnt that instructions need to be clear because if they are not clear then other people will not be able to read them and follow them. You also need instructions so that people can build or make it. You need to add what you need to make the thing. These are called materials.

Reflection on PBL                   

For our Jolly Jar my group made slime. Our name was Slime Squad. We decorated our jar and they looked cool. 

I contributed to my group by helping with the instructions and by helping them test the the slime and help them put the stuff in the jar that you needed to make slime.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because we put pva glue and pink paper and yellow and glued it onto the jar.

What I learned about working with others was  about good team werk and we collaborated and we  helped each other when they needed help.

How did we build community through our actions? We help the community by raising the money for our  school bike track.

One upon a time there was a mad scientist. He did a spell so he could go to candy land. the mad scientist  was mad and he did not have a spell to make a house. So he made a bad house out of candy and all that he could eat was candy.And he punched a purple pumpkin because he was angry and he ran into a portal to travel back in time to Narnia.and in Narnia is his labors in Narnia he did a science experiment and he found a million dollars  and use the portal and went back to Earth he built a big house and 

give people money animator spell where everyone to have money in the cityand then he became happy and he wasn't made an angry in Moreeno one was living on the streets and they really happy and thanks man scientist was the beast in the town.
